2026 Base Prices

Corn Base Price: $4.62

Soybean Base Price: $11.09

Organic Corn Base Price: $7.30

Organic Soybean Base Price: $21.57

Corn volatility was set at 0.15 and soybean volatility is 0.13.

This is a slight decline in price guarantee compared to 2025 for corn and a decent increase in guarantee for soybeans. For reference, the 2025 base prices were $4.70 for corn and $10.54 for soybeans. While the corn price is lower, which in turn lowers forecasted guarantee revenue, the increase in government subsidies for crop insurance premiums allows you, the grower, to buy-up to a higher coverage level for the same or even less money than last year.

The Multi-AIP Advantage

At HIA, we work with 3 different AIP's. An AIP is an Approved Insurance Provider, or in basic terms, an insurance company that has been approved by the Risk Management Agency (RMA), to write crop insurance policies. While ALL AIPs and ALL crop insurance agents sell the SAME underlying policies for the SAME prices, each AIP has their own suite of private products, which includes crop-hail coverage. By writing with 3 AIPs, we can make sure your operation is getting the best private products at the best rate.

Agronomist-Led Insurance Decision Making

A standard crop insurance agent sees your yield history. We see what caused it.

Most insurance agents aren't wrong — they're just working with incomplete information.

Most insurance agents aren't wrong — they're just working with incomplete information.

APH data tells an agent what a field produced. It doesn't tell them why. A field that yielded poorly two out of the last ten years looks like a risky field on paper — and a standard agent may steer coverage decisions accordingly. But if those were late-planted years because the field wasn't fit until June, that's not a field with a yield problem. That's a field with a planting timing problem, and it's one that better agronomy practice can address. HIA brings licensed agronomic expertise — including a Certified Crop Advisor — to every coverage conversation, which means we're not just reading your APH, we're interpreting it. There's a significant difference between those two things, and it shows up in how your policy gets structured.

Most insurance agents aren't wrong — they're just working with incomplete information.

A captive agent or a generalist broker isn't equipped to evaluate why your yields look the way they do. They don't know your soils, your planting history, your hybrid selections, or the agronomic factors that drove a bad year. We do. That context changes the coverage conversation entirely — not just what elections you make, but how you understand your own operation's risk profile and what's actually within your control to improve. That's what agronomist-led insurance means at HIA. Not a different product, but a fundamentally different level of advice behind it.
