Seed Selection built around your fields - not a catalog

We match seed varieties to your specific ground — soil type, yield history, risk profile — so every acre has the right genetics in it.

Talk to us about your fields

What we Offer

Becks Hybrids

Located in Brimfield, HIA sells quality corn, soybean, and wheat seed to farmers located in Peoria County and the surrounding counties. We are exclusively a Beck's Hybrids dealer. We work with operations of all types, sizes, and practices: from niche organic operations to large row-crop farms.

Why Field-by-Field Variety Selection is Important

No two fields are the same — and your seed program shouldn't pretend they are.

Most seed decisions don't get made at the farm level anymore — they get made at the industry level. A handful of blockbuster hybrids dominate every dealership's lineup, every rep conversation, and eventually, most of your acres. And it's easy to see why: the data looks good, everyone's planting them, and they perform. Until they don't — on that tight, poorly-drained clay, or those sandy knolls, or that field that just never responds the way the rest of your ground does. When the same hybrid is going on every acre regardless of what that acre actually needs, you're not making a placement decision. You're making a convenience decision.

HIA's analysis starts at the field level, not the product catalog.

Rather than leading with a lineup and working backward to fit your acres, we start with what we know about your ground — soil types, drainage, historical yield data, hybrid performance in comparable environments — and build a placement plan from there. Different fields have different ceilings. A high-yield, aggressive hybrid that thrives on your best black-dirt ground may underperform or carry unnecessary risk on your stressed, variable acres. Getting that matching right isn't a premium service. It's the foundation of a seed program that actually earns its cost.

When varieties are matched to the field, every acre works as hard as it can.

The result is better yield consistency on your top ground, better stress tolerance where your soils demand it, and a clearer picture of what each part of your operation is actually capable of. You stop putting proven-on-average hybrids on ground that was never average to begin with .

Seed and Crop Insurance, Working Together

Seed and insurance decisions don't happen at the same time — but they inform each other constantly.

Seed and insurance decisions don't happen at the same time — but they inform each other constantly.

The seed conversation happens in December. Insurance elections happen in March. Planting doesn't happen until May, and by then the plan may have shifted anyway. That timeline means no one can perfectly synchronize every decision — and any advisor who claims otherwise is overselling it. What actually matters is whether your advisor understands your operation well enough that each decision benefits from everything that came before it. At HIA, it's the same person across all of it. The conversations we have about your ground in the fall shape how we think about your coverage in the spring. Your insurance structure informs how aggressively we're willing to push on certain hybrids or planting timing. Nothing gets lost in translation between a seed dealer and an insurance agent who've never talked to each other.

That continuity is harder to find than it sounds.

Seed and insurance decisions don't happen at the same time — but they inform each other constantly.

Seed and insurance decisions don't happen at the same time — but they inform each other constantly.

Most operations are running two separate relationships — one for seed, one for insurance — and neither advisor has the full picture. When you work with HIA, we're not catching up every March. We already know your ground, your risk tolerance, how your operation performed last year, and where you're trying to go. That shared knowledge is what makes the advice better — not a synchronized process, but a genuinely integrated understanding of your operation.
